CLAY TOWNSHIP BOARD MEETING

January 22th 2025 6:00 PM

      1. CALL TO ORDER: The November 20th, 2024, Meeting of the Clay Township Board was called to order at 6:01 p.m. by Chair Andy Kietzman, and those present recited the Pledge of Allegiance.
      2. ROLL CALL: Present: Chair Andy Kietzman, Supervisors Mike Lichter via phone, Jeff Haukebo via phone, Treasurer Brandi Ward and Clerk Kristina Case.
      3. APPROVAL OF AGENDA: A motion was made by Kietzman, seconded by Lichter, and unanimously carried to approve the agenda with an addition of Board of Audit meeting.
      4. APPROVAL OF MINUTES:
        1. Clay Township Regular Meeting Minutes-September 25th, 2024: A motion was made by Haukebo, seconded by Kietzman, and unanimously carried to approve the Clay Township Regular Meeting Minutes for November 20th, 2024.
      5. NEW BUSINESS:
        1. Mantrap WMA: Erik Thorson Area Wildlife Supervisor with the MN DNR presented a DNR land acquisition that involves Clay Township. Northern Waters Land Trust will be purchasing 430 acres of undeveloped last the us currently owned by 3M on Mantrap. The land will be used a WMA with access to the already established trail system. Trail access will be on Co 24 near the Bell property. Erik has requested a letter of support from the Board. A motion made by Haukebo, seconded by Kietzman, and unanimously carried to draft a resolution or letter in support.
        2. 2025 Proposed Taxes: Received statement showing taxes in 2025 will go from $208-$182
        3. Hubbard County AIS Program: Received a letter requesting funding for AIS. Discussion followed. A motion made by Lichter, seconded by Haukebo, and unanimously carried to send a check for $3744
        4. LBAE: Scheduled for April 8th, 2025 at 11AM
      6. OLD BUSINESS:
      7. ROAD REPORT: Signs completed on Jigsaw, resident advised plow hit markers.
      8. APPROVAL OF TREASURERS REPORT: Add current investments report to
        new reports for meetings. A motion was made by Kietzman, seconded by Lichter, andunanimously carried to approve the treasurer’s report, pay outstanding invoices and fix
        code in CTAS for M-R signs to 43122:unpaved.
      9. ADJOURNMENT: A motion was made by Kietzman, seconded by Lichter, and unanimously carried to adjourn the meeting at 6:55 p.m.
