CLAY TOWNSHIP BOARD MEETING

February 26th 2025 6:00 PM

  1. CALL TO ORDER: The February 26th, 2024, Meeting of the Clay Township Board was called to order at 6:00 p.m. by Chair Andy Kietzman, and those present recited the Pledge of Allegiance.
  2. ROLL CALL: Present: Chair Andy Kietzman, Supervisors Mike Lichter via phone, Jeff Haukebo via phone, Treasurer Brandi Ward and Clerk Kristina Case. Sue Pickus, Rod Host and Dayna Then
  3. APPROVAL OF AGENDA: A motion was made by Haukebo, seconded by Lichter, and unanimously carried to approve the agenda as presented.
  4. APPROVAL OF MINUTES:
    1. Clay Township Regular Meeting Minutes-January 22nd, 2025: A motion was made by Haukebo, seconded by Kietzman, and unanimously carried to approve the Clay Township Regular Meeting Minutes for January 22nd, 2025.
  5. NEW BUSINESS:
    1. Emmaville Crossing Liquor License: Rod Host and Dayna Then request liquor license approval, license is same a currently approved license. A motion was made by Kietzman, seconded by Lichter, and unanimously carried to approved the license application.
    2. JackFish Road Resurfacing: SPRA, State Park Road Account, underutilized grant reopened. Applied for grant. Will need engineer to access current details to proceed. Will have MN Dot come and boar for Road details. A motion was made by Kietzman, seconded by Lichter, and unanimously carried to approve expense to boar and up to $20,000 to apply for grant to maintenance Jack Fish for full funding.
    3. Hubbard County Sentence to Serve: Received a request for donation, based off 21 hours, 5 Crew members, 16 sentenced. Discussion followed. A motion was made by Kietzman, seconded by Lichter, and unanimously carried to approve paying $335 to Hubbard County Sentence to Serve.
    4. Census: Zoning Request, 0 requested
    5. Kristina Case Resignation: Kristina Case has moved out of Clay township therefor requesting resignation. Sue Pickus has volunteered to take the interim position. Keep Kristina Case as a consultant. Kristina would still get clerk salary and Sue would receive regular meeting amount plus hours. Discussion Followed. A motion was made Haukebo, Seconded by Lichter, and unanimously carried to appoint Sue Pickus as Interim Clerk till next election, receiving regular meeting rate. An additional motion was made by Kietzman, Seconded by Lichter, and unanimously carried to approve Kristina Case as clerk consultant at clerk salary for 1 year.
  6. OLD BUSINESS:
  7. ROAD REPORT: Addressed above, New Business B
  8. APPROVAL OF TREASURERS REPORT: Reports were discussed. A motion was made by Kietzman, seconded by Lichter, and unanimously carried to approve the treasurer’s report, pay outstanding invoices.
  9. ADJOURNMENT: A motion was made by Kietzman, seconded by Lichter, and unanimously carried to adjourn the meeting at 7:05 p.m.
