CLAY TOWNSHIP  MARCH 11, 2014 ANNUAL MEETING MINUTES

  1. The meeting was called to order by Jeff Haukabo, supervisor, at 7:06 p.m.

(Chair, Andy Kietzman was unable to be at the meeting due to an illness in the family; Clerk Margie Vik absent due to Clerking for Park Rapids)

  1. Present: Jeff Haukabo, Norm Leistikow, Del Holz, Alice Holz, Martha Leistikow, and guest Sue Ryan.
  2. The pledge of allegiance was recited.
  3. Motion by Jeff Haukebo, second by Del Holz, to use the suggested agenda as printed in the Minnesota Area Townships publication. PASSED.
  4. Motion to approve the minutes of the previous meeting as read by Alice. Del Moved, Second: Marty: APPROVED.
  5. Martha Leistikow was nominated as Moderator & Alice Holz as Secretary in Margie’s absence. (Motion by Del Holz, seconded by Jeff Haukabo  PASSED)
  6. Report: Clay Township’s financial report was given by treasurer, Del Holz.

  1. Report: Township road report given by Road Supervisor: Norm Leistikow.

  1. Township members length of terms and time(s) of election: Changes were made at the previous township meeting (July, 2013) to allow for varying starting dates and length of terms so that not all memebers of the board would be new at the same time. Township secretary, Marge Vik needs to be informed of these changes by one of the supervisors in time for the 2014 elections.
  2. Request for possible striping and signage on Big Mantrap Lake boat access road to warn of pedestrians using the sides of the road as a walking area. No action taken, but Supervisors Leistikow and Kietzman will check at Spring Short Course regarding rules and regulations governing them.
  3. The township was asked to go on record as “requesting more input time for the public to comment on the proposed oil pipeline through northern Hubbard County.” Rationale:  Many people  who have property involved are seasonal and have not had a chance to share their concerns. Moved: Norm L. Second: Del H. PASSED
  4. Motion: to approve the following amounts of money for services rendered to the people of Clay Township.  See attached “Levy sheet.” Moved by Jeff Hackabo. Seconded by Norm Leistikow.  PASSED.
  5. Motion by Jeff Haukebo, seconded by Alice Holz: To set the 2015 annual meeting on the 2nd Tuesday in March at 7 pm. To be held at the Mantrap Valley Conservation Club.  APPROVED.
  6. Motion to recess this meeting until July 23, 2014: meeting to be held at the Mantrap Valley Conservation Club. Motion: Norm Leistikow, second Jeff Haukebo. PASSED.
